In this course we will delve into the work Daf' Shubah at-Tashbih bi-Akaff at-Tanzih (Rejecting Alikeness Accusations by Protecting Transcendence) by Imam Ibn al-Jawzi, which offers a sound theological response to anthropomorphism that falsely ascribes human-like attributes to Allah. The book defends the pure transcendence of Allah and dispels misconceptions about His attributes that often lead to misinterpretations.

  • Introduction to Islamic theology (Aqidah) and the context of Ibn al-Jawzi's work
  • Critical examination of the accusations of anthropomorphism
  • The meaning of the transcendence of Allah and how to protect it from false similarities
  • Argumentative refutation of misunderstandings about the divine attributes
  • Principles of the correct aqidah and how it was preserved by classical scholars

📖 Aim of the course: This course is aimed at all those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the Aqidah (Islamic doctrine), especially with regard to the correct perception of the divine attributes. Through the reading of Daf' Shubah at-Tashbih participants are shown how to recognize misconceptions about Allah's attributes and correctly understand the transcendence of Allah. 🎥 Recordings: Recordings of the sessions are provided for all participants so that the content can not only be caught up on, but also conveniently replayed. 📍 Participation options:
