He replied: "Those who, when they are near, give, when they are far away, praise, when they are treated unjustly, forgive and when they are oppressed, give space. Those who find such people have success and happiness."
A noble man does not repeat his reckoning; he who calls himself to account in this world will not be called to account in the hereafter.
He also said: "Out of His generosity, the Almighty has allowed you to hold yourself accountable in this world; He has not appointed anyone to hold you accountable. He has preferred to you what He has deferred to others, saying: {Today it is enough that you yourself be your own judge}."
He said: "Happy is the one who, after the night prayer, puts his deeds of the day before him and examines them. If he finds something that requires thanks, he gives thanks, if it requires forgiveness, he asks for forgiveness, and if it requires repentance, he repents...
until it is ready.
Then he puts his book aside and falls asleep with gratitude, forgiveness and remorse.
He does this every night because he doesn't know when death might surprise him.
The great rewards lie in the little things of everyday life and it is precisely in these things that Sufism is lived. Anyone who manages to reflect every night with pen and paper on all the things they have done during the day and all the people they have met during the day, and to evaluate themselves on how they have dealt with them, is a true Sufi.
Having forgiveness in your heart is the absolute strength. You can ignore someone and show that you are angry or disappointed, but in your heart everything should be pure and free of resentment towards that person. This behavior only serves to educate or clarify so that the person never behaves this way again. Because you only blame people you love.
So rebuke, but never lose your peace, forgiveness and love in your heart. Then Allah, the Exalted, will deal with you in the same way: He will educate you with hard and easy trials, without turning away from you, but loving you.
