Nour Academy
The Nour Islam Academy teaches the Sunni doctrine, which is followed by the absolute majority of Muslims worldwide. This doctrine includes the four established schools of jurisprudence, the two Aqida schools (al-Ašʿarīyya and al-Māturīdiyya) and the path of Tasawwuf according to Al-Junaid. We offer a comprehensive range of educational services, including online courses, the publication of Fatawa, as well as seminars and workshops. We also promote Islamic education through targeted scholarships for study abroad.
The director and Shaykh of the Nour Islam Academy, Shaykh Muhannad Yusufis a graduate of the traditional Islamic school. Our approach combines the proven principles of traditional teaching with modern media such as the Internet. We offer comprehensive courses in various Islamic sciences both online in German and Arabic and on-site at the Zawiyah in Wuppertal. This integrative approach enables our students to become official offshoots of Mahdarah al-Taysīr from Mauritania.

Cooperation | Mahdarah al-Taysīr
The mahdarah is a traditional form of education from Mauritania that provides access to Islamic education for people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. In contrast to traditional group lessons, students are taught individually and personally in a mahdarah. This educational concept, which has existed since the beginnings of Islam, has become increasingly established over the last 500 years. The Mahdarah al-Taysīr, which looks back on over 400 years of history, is one of the oldest mahadirs in Mauritania and trains 300 to 400 students with different ijazaat (degrees/authorizations) every year.
Each mahdarah is led by an experienced scholar who specializes in all Islamic sciences. The 63 Islamic sciences include the doctrine of faith (Aqidah/Ilm al-Kalam), jurisprudence (Fiqh), principles and methods (Usul al-Fiqh), hadith sciences (Ilm al-Hadith) and linguistics (al-Lughat).
