Highlights of the educational trip

The Alhambra, an impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the greatest achievements of Islamic architecture. This palace and fortress complex, built in the 13th and 14th centuries by the Nasrids, the last Muslim dynasty in Spain, bears witness to the high level of artistry, science and engineering of Al-Andalus.

Our tour takes us through the magnificent Nasrid palaces, which are decorated with ornate mosaics, intricate stucco work and masterful calligraphy. Each room tells a story of elegance, spirituality and refined geometry - a reflection of the Islamic world view, in which beauty and mathematics are closely linked.

However, the Alhambra is not only an architectural masterpiece, but also a testimony to the scientific innovations of its time. Sheikh Muhannad Yusuf will introduce us to the advanced technical achievements of the Alhambra that went far beyond its time:

  • Advanced water filtration systems that piped fresh, clean water throughout the palace - a symbol of purity and life.
  • Wind turbines and mechanical systems that were used to provide energy and make life in the palace easier.
  • The ingenious irrigation system that made the magnificent Gardens of the Generalife shine in full bloom - a paradisiacal retreat for rulers.

The Alhambra was not just a palace, but also a place of knowledge and progress. Astronomers, mathematicians, engineers and artists found inspiration here and developed ideas that shaped the knowledge of mankind.
